paulOr.net was created for the first time in October 2003 & to this day, after many different versions, remains a place for Paul Fraser (me) to post news, rants & nonsence on, for my pleasure. If you enjoy reading them thats all the better :]
As you may have worked out my name is Paul Fraser, im a 21 year old guy from Scotland. I am currently working as a freelance PHP, MySQL & AJAX developer. I also do some part time work with my father who is a joiner and builder, he sometimes needs a hand, so from time to time i may go work for him. Mostly, i get paid for creating standardized and accessable websites and applications, something which i have enjoyed doing for many years now, but untill recently did not have a platform to showcase my work and to accept new work.
You'll find some useful things on paulOr.net, like PHP, TCL & AJAX snippets, little bits of code to make your website go a little better, aswell as some funny & stupid stuff. I love taken pictures of things, and regularly update my flickr account with amazing new photos.
I was born on Wednesday 1st of April 1987, into a family of 5, me being the 6's. A mum ( Becky ), Dad ( Ronald ) & my three brothers, Ronnie, Mark & Andy.
Not impressed by the current web hosting market, i resorted to 'running' my own web host, with a reseller account, a domain name and a blank notepad document, i made one of the greatest achivements of my life to date. EckoHost Web Hosting Solutions had an amazing lifespan of around 5 years, in that time, my self and the dedicated team pulled off some wonderful stuff, our customers were always happy.
Sadly, all great things must come to an end. Due to lack of concentraction and a egotistical manner in which things were delt with, one night, everything went downhill, a catoclismic hard drive failure, killing our control panels, clearing client FTPs & whiping our databases clean, We were left with nothing but ftp accounts, with no information, no client details and no hope. A gut wrenching turn of the tables, EckoHost could not overcome, shortly after, the doors were closed, the power went off.
The story doesn't stop there, from then on iv strived to create something even better, not untill every I is dotted, every T is crossed will the seads of my labour fruiton, untill such point, you'll need to lay in wait for the next biggest thing to come out of Edinburgh.
I have a small family, leaving home at 20 years old, setting up house with my long-term partner Emilie, we had a baby boy on 9th October 2007, Sam. We live in a very quiet part of Dalgety Bay, Fife. I can legally drive, and i do so often.
There are no regrets in my life, although i know some people will think otherwise, everything i have ever done has brought me to where i am today, that i am thankful for.
